Meet Carol

Hello Everyone, my name is Carol Mc Guinness. I thought I would introduce myself rather than write a profile about me, like someone else was writing it, if you know what I mean! Well I initially studied counselling skills in 2004 and received a certificate from the National University of Ireland. I then qualified with a Diploma in Business and Personal Coaching from the Irish Life Coach Institute in 2005, and I have been an Accredited member of the Life and Business Coaching association of Ireland ever since. I also went onto study NLP, and I am now a certified Master Practioner with the International NLP Trainers Association. I have recently attended the Train the Trainer Course and obtained FETAC level 6 certificate.

Anyway while qualifications are a necessary part of becoming a Life Coach, I thought it would also be important to tell you a little bit about myself and what Life Coaching means to me. The first thing that comes to mind when I think of coaching is that it Works. From my own experience of being both a client and a coach I have discovered, it is amazing just how much you can learn about yourself in a coaching environment, that you would not learn from just chatting with friends. In this environment you get to Hear how you really think, you get to See behaviours and patterns that are useful and not so useful, you get to Feel what you really feel. And the more you begin to know and understand yourself, the more choice you create for yourself, and the more in control you will feel in your life. I remember I was very sceptical and scared the first time I ever went to a coaching session. I mean, how was talking going to solve my problems? Would I turn into a completely different person that no-body liked? and would I have to change everything in my life. All I can say now, is that coaching helped me to such an extent that the more I learned the more I found I wanted to be a coach myself. I believe in the process and I am very passionate about helping people through coaching.

From what I see as both a coach and a client, coaching is self-empowering in a way that needs to be experienced, so come along and see for your self. What have you got to lose?
